Item description
Vintage original 27x40 in. US double-sided one-sheet poster from the 1990's fantasy action/adventure film, TARZAN AND THE LOST CITY, released in 1998 by Warner Bros. and directed by Carl Schenkel. On the eve of his wedding, John Clayton, Lord of Greystoke (Casper Van Dien), better known as Tarzan, receives a message from the witch doctor Mugambe (Winston Ntshona) that his homeland is in danger. It turns out that a treasure hunter named Ravens (Steve Waddington) is searching for the lost city of Opar, and is destroying the jungle and desecrating the villagers' burial grounds in the process. Only Tarzan can stop Ravens and set things right in the African jungle, but will Jane Porter (Jane March) stand for her fiancee being away for so long?
Billed as "A new Tarzan for a new generation," this was the first "Tarzan" film to be shot entirely on location in Africa. The image features an exterior shot in the jungle of handsome muscular Casper Van Dien as Tarzan, depicted squatting on the branch of a tree wearing only a leopard-skin loincloth as he holds a bow while assessing the scene around him. This double-sided one-sheet poster was printed for display at theaters inside of a light box. Unrestored and rolled as originally issued, it is in very fine condition with only a few light signs of wear beneath the top border. There are no pinholes, tears, stain, or other flaws. Great beefcake image with gay interest!
