Item description

About US; Welcome to Campbellfilms. We are a small American family business, started by a father son that collects old films. Our goal is to save old films from the trash heap and digitize them in HD for future generations. The Son went to film school and the father is passionate about history and assembles the content. The result is why folks comment positively on the "Quality and Content" of our old films transferred on our DVD's. Although we are not Hollywood, we think that you'll like these old historic films! Please note; Buy 2 or more of any of our DVD's per order from our collection, and we will add a free DVD along with this order of similar topic. What's on this DVD; Railroad Train films Rio Grande Historical Trip to Silverton narrow gauge This is a collection of old Railroad films called a "Trip to Silverton". Very RARE and maybe 1 of a kind film story about a group of 275 Railroad fans who commissioned a Locomotive 5626 in Illinois to travel to Denver, and then on to Silverton Colorado in 1959. Once they got to the base of the Rockies, they changed Railroad locomotives to go on a Narrow Gauge Steam Engine No.476. From there they traveled to Silverton. The first 3 films is are about that trip. These films are very rare and we hope you'll enjoy this collection. 1st Film; "Journey to Yesterday". This a very rare film footage with sound where the fans go aboard there 16 train cars attached to the Steam Engine No. 5626. Leaving Chicago, they travel to Denver. There they change trains to the Narrow Gauge Train No.476 and begin the upward trip to Silverton. Runtime 12:28 Min's 2nd Film; "Trip To Silverton". This is part 2 of there trip to Silverton. Up they go. Canyons, rivers, cliffs, and through small towns to get to Silverton. At the end, there is a truck type train. I think this was to get to the very last of the trip. If anyone knows, let us know. Amazing stuff. Runtime 11:44 Min's 3rd Film; "Rails Among the Peaks". This too is a Rare film traveling through the Rocky peaks. I think this film was shot by one of the 275 fans that went on the trip and made a separate film. This film is in good color too. Runtime 10:48 Min's. 4th Film;" Ballad of the Iron Horse". This is great film on the history of railroad created across the USA after the civil war. Part of the great struggle was crossing the Rockies. Great trains and story. Lot of great footage. Runtime 29:02 Min's 5th Film; "Rio Grande Engine 476". This is an old film on a trip to Silver ton with Engine #476. Runtime 11 Min's 6th Film; "Railroad Snowbound". This is a neat collection of Railroads struggling to get through heavy snow. Amazing Train snow plows at work. Plus, a short story on the Train "San Francisco City" that got stranded at Donors Pass and how other rescue trains came to get them out. Again, Amazing!!! Runtime 7:24 min's 7th Film. "1905 Trip to Pikes peak and Royal Gorge". This is a short story on a trip to Pikes Peak in 1905. Very RARE film footage. Plus see the Royal Gorge with it's bridge, the trains and trolley that takes you up to the top. Well worth seeing.! Lastly, A ride on the old Georgetown Loop!! Very Very RARE RunTime 11:04 Min's Product No. CFDVD0109 Thanks for Looking!!! If you are a Veteran, or have a family member that has old pictures, slides, or 16mm /8mm film and you can't afford to get them transferred, contact us and I'll do it for free.
