Hardcover. The Italians haven't wanted any part of World War II and they find the Nazis almost as unpleasant as the Allied bombing raids. The young boy hero of this story, however takes it all in stride as the sons of the poor must always learn to do. When the boy becomes involved in a raid on an Allied warehouse, he is in danger of jail until two philanthropic ladies arrange for him to go to an orphanage. He runs away and sets out to walk to Naples. On the way he meets a helpful ex colonel who directs him to a Boys Town and a new life begins for the plucky youngster. (#0000187)
