Horned owl Art Poster Print 13 x 19 in This vintage woodcut print titled, Horned owl (Hoornuil), was created by Dutch artist, Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita, in 1915. De Mesquita was born in Amsterdam in June 1868. His first career was as an architect, but he went on to study at Rijksnormaalschool voor Tekenonderwijzers? (school for drawing teachers) and became a graphic design teacher. He also carved out a career as an artist and printmaker, creating designs for fabric, using the batik technique and wood stamps.
