Gettysburg National Military Park framed color lithographic print, under glass in lovely antique wooden frame. Measures 15.75" x 11" including frame. Reverse side of print reads, "Gettysburg N.M.P. General Hancock's equestrian statue stands lonely vigil over the mist - shrouded artillery emplacements on East Cemetery Hill. Photo by David Muench. Copyright by Eastern National Park Mon. Association GFP-1." Date of print unknown, but no earlier than 1950. A handwritten note on the reverse side reads "Date of Frame 1923." Condition: Print is in excellent condition. Frame is in very good condition with some light scuffs.
PHOTOGRAPHER BIOGRAPHY: David Muench (born June 25, 1936 in Santa Barbara. California) is a landscape and nature photographer known for portraying the American western landscape. He is the primary photographer for more than 50 books and his work appears in many magazines, posters, and private collections. Muench is the son of Josef Muench, another landscape photographer. A freelance photographer since the 1950s, Muench's formal schooling includes the Rochester Institute of Technology, and the Art Center Scool of Design in Los Angeles. In 1975, David Muench was commissioned to photograph 33 large murals on the Lewis and Clark Expedition for the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial in St. Lous, Missouri.
