GAZ M-22 Volga, 1962-1970 USSR. Vintage. Collectible car model 1/43 Children's car. Rare. Mini car. Old car. GAZ M-22 Volga is a Soviet middle-class car with a station wagon body. Produced in series. It was equipped with a five-door load-bearing body with a 5-7-seat convertible interior. The GAZ-22 had various modifications, and the GAZ-22B ambulance and the GAZ-22A cargo van were also produced on its basis. In the USSR, it was impossible to purchase a GAZ-22 for personal use. All cars were distributed among state organizations, mainly taxi companies, trade organizations and the ambulance service. In a taxi, GAZ-22 station wagons were used as cargo-and-passenger ones - they transported passengers with oversized luggage. GAZ-22s were used by firefighters as staff vehicles. Also at airports for parking aircraft were used as GAZ-22 escort cars with special paint and a luminous display on the trunk lid with the inscription "Follow me". In total, about 14 thousand cars were produced. GAZ-22 were exported. So, the British magazine The Motor in July 1964, while noticing some old-fashioned and non-dynamic, highly appreciated such station wagon qualities as capacity, structural safety margin, cross-country ability, durability. The author of the article, Rab Cook, addressed the machine primarily to the small farmer, admiring its versatility and practicality. The price of the car, which amounted to 998 pounds with taxes for a car in a complete set, deserved great attention. Model made in China by DeAGOSTINI, 1/43 scale.
