The plate was made in 1976 and has the year on it. It plate is called Apple Tree Girl and is their 6th plate of the annual series. It has a Goebel mark of the stylized bee with a V above and toward the right end of Goebel/W Germany. This tells that it was made from 1972-1979. What a great addition to your collection or start your collection today. A little story of how this all came about. In 1934, Franz Goebel was searching for something new. He saw the art work that was done by a Franciscan Sister named Maria Innocentia Hummel. He adored the way she portrayed the gentle innocence of children and new with the world in political turmoil that there would be a good market for her work. So in March of 1935 he launched his new market line at the Leipzig Spring Fair. What a wonderful success it has been all through the years.
