Item description

Vtg 1966 Embroidery Inspired By Wrought Iron Designs Iron On Transfer Patterns Book TITLE: Embroidery Wrought Iron Designs CRAFT: Embroidery DESIGNER: Coats Sewing Group LEAFLET NUMBER: 1024 PUBLISHER: J. P. Coats COPYRIGHT DATE: 1966 CONDITION: Very good vintage condition, a bit of shelf wear consistent with age. CONTENTS: It is embroidery patterns inspired by wrought iron designs. In a search for a new and unusual embroidery theme, another form of handwork, indeed one of the oldest and most traditional-Wrought Iron- has been the inspiration. In this book of embroideries the needle, fabric and thread of the embroideress have replaced the hammer, anvil and file. However, the style of design and pattern is still the same. The Scrolls and Coils so skilfully fashioned in metal have a close affinity to the flowing patterns of this free-style embroidery. The heavier forms of wrought iron develop most successfully into the counted thread embroidery techniques. Iron On transfers included. Alternative sketch suggestions and lay-outs are given for each free style embroidery design to give the embroideress greater scope. All the wrought iron designs used are traditional and authentic and stem from Italy, Spain, France and Belgium. NOTE!! These are PATTERNS only not the finished product nor the materials to complete the projects. My items are shipped from Canada and I use Canada Post - we do not have a media rate or first class shipping as in the US. Canada Post charges by the size and weight of the items. When you receive your parcel, shipping costs do not reflect the 15% HST we have to pay in Nova Scotia on stamps or the 9% Final Value Fee now charges on shipping. I do not ship on weekends or holidays as there is no mail service available at Canada Post on these days. Always happy to combine items when possible to save you on postage. IF YOU PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE ITEM PLEASE WAIT UNTIL I SEND YOU A COMBINED SHIPPING INVOICE BEFORE PAYING. Combined shipping is based on the FINAL WEIGHT of your package - please email me the item numbers if you would like an exact rate for the items you are bidding on. Thanks.
