Item description
This is an antique, small, brown beer bottle embossed on the bottom "A B Co" above the number "14". According to my research the AB Co mark was used by the American Bottle Company between 1906 and 1916 at the Streator, IL plant (and possibly other locations). That plant typically included a heel mark preceded by an "S". This bottle doesn't have that. The "14" likely is a date mark for 1914. Adolphus Busch produced beer bottles for American Bottle at Belleville and St. Louis locations during the same time frame. My father, an avid bottle digger, found this bottle in the ruins of an old homestead in Virginia more than 40 years ago. Its in great shape, free from breaks with the exception of a small chip on the heel. The pre-Prohibition bottle is formed from very heavy, thick glass and is an unusual size, smaller than typical beer bottles, measuring only about 8" tall and 2.25" wide. It is a neat man cave accessory or gift for vintage beer bottle collectors.
Please Note: This is an empty bottle sold for collectible purposes.
