The edges have embossed scroll type designs around the inside edge. It has open handles, and there are also small openings around the edges. It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches from handle to handle, and stands approximately 2 inches tall at the handles. It is signed Varda Gardner on the back, and dated 2/57. The base colors are a cream and off white color. There is minor wear to the edges, and the bottom rim where it would have been set on a shelf. This bowl reminds me of the type of stuff coming out of France and England around the mid 20th century. It would look great sitting on a table holding small wrapped candies or fruit.
