The book includes 550 photographs of these beautiful dolls and people, as well as a photograph of the author on the fly page. Front end page has a glued photo of the author above her signature. Probably most interesting to a doll collector, this is a book about dolls and the interesting people who make and collect them. Written back in the day when there were still great dolls out there in attics and closets waiting to be found. Written in the days when you go to the Goodwill or Salvation Army Stores and get a Tiffany or Tiffany style lamp for a few dollars. A wonderful vintage book entitled, 'Dolls and People' by Jeannette H. Mowery, printed in Portland, Oregon by the Metropolitan Press, in 1956. The author published this unique book, which highlights hundreds of dolls and the 'fascinating and delightful people who have collected and made these dolls'. Mrs. Mowery was the National President of the Society of Doll Hobbyists and had a private collection of her own, which numbered over 2,000 dolls. Very Good overall condition. Cover is showing age signs of wear. Pages are in good shape with no ripped or torn pages. Solid and readable. Needs airing. NO dust jacket. Size: 6-3/8 x 9-1/4 inches, 224 pages.
