Item description
Vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the 1950's Quaker-themed drama/romance, FRIENDLY PERSUASION, released in 1956 by Allied Artists and directed by William Wyler. Based upon the book by Jessamyn West, the pacifist attitude of a Quaker family is tested as a result of the American Civil War.
The image depicts an exterior shot of Jess Birdwell (Gary Cooper) as he looks at something off-camera while crouching in the wilderness. The border artwork features a large portrait of Cooper as well. It is unrestored in fine- condition with one set of staple holes in the top right corner of the background area and one in the bottom of the left border; a small area of paper loss on the top of the left border; a 2 in. diagonal crease and signs of wear on the top right corner; and light signs of wear on the bottom right corner.
