Benoit Cote (1929-2018) began painting at an early age and in 1953 he received a master?s degree in administration from Laval University in Quebec City. In 1959 he was awarded a grant from the Greenfields Foundation, which allowed him to study and travel to Europe for a while. His favorite medium is acrylic and from 1958 to 1966 Benoit Cote held ten exhibitions in Quebec City and Montreal, including three with Jean-Paul Lemieux, Edmund Alleyn, Aristide Gagnon, Jean Philippe Dallaire and his friend Claude Picher. From 1967 to 1980, he decided to stop everything, a question of better thinking about his future and his art. And fortunately, from 1980, he devoted himself solely to painting, regularly presenting solo exhibitions in Canada and abroad. He was a self-taught artist, he began painting in 1953, and he received an MBA from Laval University in Quebec, and in 1959 was awarded from the Greensfield Foundation, which gave him a grant in Europe. From 1958 to 1966, he held ten exhibitions in Quebec City and Montreal, including Jean-Paul Lemieux, Edmund Alleyn, and Aristide Gagnon.
