This is a Hard-To-Find, VINTAGE, Hand-Crafted “Small Round Flower Swirling Leaves Motif Hand Carved Soapstone Storage Stash Jewelry Trinket Ring Vanity Table Box" handmade in India in the mid-1930s. My neighbor’s grandparents were British and her grandfather was stationed in India from 1932-1937; her grandmother purchased this box while they were living there. Handed down to your mother in 1952 and to her in 1975, she is getting ready to move and MUST downsize. In EXCELLENT, Age Appropriate Condition with NO cracks, breaks or other damage, the inside needs to be gently cleaned as there appears to be a waxy substance inside; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. With a diameter of approximately 1 1/2 inches, it stands approximately 1 1/2 inches tall and the domed lid fits securely; it is not Marked or Signed". This LOVELY Hand Carved Marbleized Soapstone Box has natural shades of Green Brown.
