Several sailing ships adorn the view. On the verso, the sheet includes another panoramic view of Sestos. French text is on the verso and on the recto. Henri de Beauvau was a French diplomat and general who undertook this voyage beginning in November 1604. He was a career diplomat who had previously served Emperor Rudolf II during the Ottoman-Hungarian campaigns.
