Design of lamp is geometric cubist style in raised relief (modern abstract design popularized by Pablo Picasso). Sitting atop beautiful, routed, walnut blocks. Lamps are approximately 31 inches in height measuring from base to top of finials. The metal bases are approximately 6.5 inches square. Signed Carl Falkenstein. Year of manufacture: 1940s. Though information on this designer is limited, it is confirmed that he trained at Stockholm A.C.S., qualifying as a design teacher.
