(Internal #V-246-8) You are bidding on a beautiful, handmade, Red cloisonne, with 6 mm round red bamboo coral beads. Necklace is 20" long, 9x12 oval cloisonne beads, with gold safety closure. THESE ARE THE VINTAGE OLD-SCHOOL STYLE OF SMOOTH HIGHEST QUALITY BEADS, not like the rough cloisonne style of beads you see on the modern market today. THIS CHINESE FACTORY HAS CLOSED, NO MORE BEADS HAVE BEEN MADE FOR YEARS. How cloisonne beads are made in China. A copper bead is created with hammering and welding. Cells (cloisonne) of wire are created and soldered on each bead. they are filled with enamel and fired in a kiln, then three or more thin layers of enamel are added and fired, never a thick layer or the enamel will bubble up and burn. Initial grinding is done to smooth the enamel down to the wire outlining, then it is polished and polished again to a high shine.
