Item description
Vintage original 8 x 10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1920's WWI-themed drama/romance, HEAVEN ON EARTH, released in 1927 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by Phil Rosen.
The image Durand (Conrad Nagel) pausing by tree to look at a "Wanted" poster of himself. It is in fine+ condition as shown.
The May 1, 1926 Motion Picture News reported that Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer changed the title from The Escape to Heaven on Earth.
Young Edmond Durand (Conrad Nagel) has been reared under the autocratic influence of his aunt (Marcia Manon), who directs a large silk mill in southern France. He revolts against a stifling career planned for him and leaves home with Marcelle, a Gypsy girl (Renee Adoree). They roam the countryside with a Gypsy caravan in romantic bliss; they are inadvertently separated but at the outbreak of war are reunited. When peace is restored, the lovers find happiness together. The cast includes Gwen Lee, Julia Swayne Gordon, Pat Hartigan, Bernard Siegel, and Leon Janney.
