Jennie Tomao was
born in New York City to an Italian family. She attended the prestigious New
York School of Music and Art where she received an Award of Excellence from the
Pittsburgh Institute of Art.
Tomao is known not
only for her magnificent landscapes but also for her traditional but
imaginative depiction of women and children and her exquisite still lifes.
Her works deal
intelligently with the subject matter, and have an intimate, deep and friendly
mood.
Tomao's family has
many talented artists.
