This lamp is a replica French firefighter helmet from the 17th century based on the research I was able to find that matches the crossing axes on the front and red feather accent. Details from Google upon searching:


This is the front plate (wappen) of a French cuirassier helmet from the late 19th century.

Details:

The helmet would have been worn by a member of the French heavy cavalry, known as cuirassiers.

The front plate features the Gallic rooster, a symbol of France.

The inscription "REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE" translates to "French Republic".


The helmet appears to be a heavier resin cast and painted gold. This is a truly antique piece that is a unique find!
