This Standing Bell is called Orin in Japan.
Orin is a traditional Japanese Buddhist instrument.
It is mainly used during religious services to signal the beginning, pauses, and conclusion of sutra chanting.
It is also struck as a cue to release one's hands from a prayer position.

In modern times, Orin is not only used in religious settings but also as a percussion instrument in contemporary music.
Due to its compact and stylish design, it is sometimes used as a front desk bell in hotels.
