This is a beautiful example of late 19th century European pressed glass made by S. Reich and Co. The cup bears the striking face of Mephistopheles, beautifully accented by the eyes, which remain unfrosted. This glass is a stunning and incredibly rare piece.

The hobnail pattern is large and exceedingly clear, giving the unsettling appearance of thousands of eyes reflecting back at the viewer.

Made of manganese glass, the tumbler gently fluoresces under UV light, making it great for collectors of fluorescent glass, in addition to its value as an incredible piece.

Note that glass pieces of this age show bubbles and slight imperfections due to the manufacturing processes of the time.

Excellent condition for age. Two minor chips on base. See photos for details.
