Includes one Diamond Match Co vintage matchbook from famed The Buffalo Club, founded by Millard Fillmore and his civic leader colleagues in 1867. Since then, it has grown into a renowned U.S. city club that has been home to more than 1,000 members – three of whom were United States presidents.
Includes one Diamond Match Co vintage matchbook from historical restaurant The Park Lane, first opened on January 12, 1926 by Denial Carriagher, a well-known Buffalo hotel "troubleshooter" (and then the general manager of the Parke Lane Apartments) who hand-selected manager Peter Gust Economou to run the place, who later become president of the Gates Circle Realty Corporation.
Includes on Universal Match Corp. vintage matchbook from the famous Hengerer's department store, "Serving Buffalo Since 1836", which offered cooking classes, beauty parlors, and restaurants and introduced washing and sewing machines, vacuum cleaners, and iceboxes to the public. By 1907, Hengerer's boasted of being the largest department store between New York City and Chicago.
