I think this fabulous vintage harem girl ensemble has been in my collection since the late 1970’s.  I never had the occasion to wear it.
I have decided it needs to be worn.  The world needs to see it. The white embroidery on it is called passamenterie, a type of embroidery that uses braid trimming.  As you can see, it is so dramatic against the sheer black fabric.  I believe the fabric is rayon.  There are no labels at all anywhere.  I am also guessing it is from the 1960’s.  It could be earlier.
The measurements of the jacket are:   Bust - 38”.   Shoulder to Shoulder - 17”.      Sleeve length measured from shoulder seam - 22”
Length from top of shoulder to hem - 21”

                                                  Pants - Waist - 28”.   Length - 42”

The pants have close on each side with two buttons.  I have shown the pants with black underwear underneath.  This is not included in the sale.

There are condition issues which are shown in the photos.  These include small holes, buttonholes that need restitching, the fabric covering the buttons is wearing in places.  There is a repair in the passamenterie that can be seen in photo #11.
Also, the elastic at the bottom of each leg has lost its elasticity.

I feel that despite these issues there is a lot of life yet in this ensemble and that when it is on the drama and beauty of it will prevail over these mostly minor issues.

I welcome all questions and requests for more photos.
