Price Tag for Murder Mystery Paperback Book by Spencer Dean Crime 1960
An exotic, vicious murder slammed the door on Don Cadee's only clue to a missing warehouse-full of merchandise.
Baby Talk from the dead
The heap of rust-colored corduroy lying on the ladies room floor was Louise Eston, one of Ambletts' best-liked buyers-and quite dead!
There were few clues-a shiny red speck that looked like a harmless sliver of apple peel until Don Cadee touched it and found his finger swollen purple with pain. And there was the silly, mocking entry on Louise's memo pad that said:
pudding pie
Don Cadee was baffled-by the murder and by the hijackers' secret that Louise must have learned at the price of her life. Then he met a strange apple peddler named Georgie, who got nervous at being called "Porgie."
