4-7 pound gourds look like giant apples. When fully dried and brown in color, the dried gourds are great for ornamental and craft use, highly sought after specifically to make Fairy Garden Houses. 

Gourds are a frost sensitive plant with tropical origins that requires a long hot season and full sun. Can be direct seeded in warm regions. In northern climates,  

plant seeds in containers indoors 4 weeks before last frost, and transplant when threat of frost has passed and warm night temperatures prevail.
