1934 Vintage Cartoon Art Postcard QSL Card VE2II 2 cent Canada Stamp

The Card from Sherbrooke, Que. Canada. was "Printed in USA" and features two separate vintage cartoon art characters on opposite sides of the front of the card, along with the PE QSL and ARRL logos, a handwritten personal message asks if he "listened to Amos and Andy" ! Hand signed by "Sarge", "Osmind Sargent" Opr.

On the front of the card, the handwritten date is 2/3/34 (although the "2" looks like a "7", the card is postmarked March 10, 1934, so it had to be February).

The classic Amateur Radio Operator cartoon art depicts both talking with the headphones on, with the moon showing through the window (late at night as Whitey often did) and the other sending Morse code (the clock in the background appears to say 20 after one, and the hanging lamp indicates a late at night communication.

CONDITION: Fair condition, one pinhole along the top edge caused some damage to the area around the pin hole. Corners and edges show wear, but are intact, no creases, or wrinkles.

The postmark, barely touched the sideways postage stamp, but apparently went right through the card, (if looking at the front of the card, the postmark is reversed) and the cancel lines run through the cartoon artwork.

Some historical tidbits: Amos 'n' Andy was a sitcom set in Manhattan's historic black community of Harlem. The show was very popular in the United States from the 1920s through the 1950s on both radio and television.
The radio show was written and voiced by two white actors playing a number of different characters, originating from station WMAQ in Chicago.
Although the television version in particular received some criticism even in its own time, it is notable that apart from a few of the regular characters, most of the characters portrayed are simply ordinary people, and not stereotypes.
The show ran as a nightly radio serial from 1928 until 1943, as a weekly situation comedy from 1943 until 1955, and as a nightly disc-jockey program from 1954 until 1960. A television adaptation ran on CBS-TV from 1951 until 1953.
