I present you tonight a Rare Collectible Antique Japan Porcelain Statuette of Ebisu, Japan God of Abundance, Happiness, Health and Good Fortune. The Statuette is Handmade and hand painted. One-of-a-Kind.

Ebisu is a kami of happiness, luck, and abundant harvests from land and sea. He is one of the Shichi Fuku Jin, the Japan's Seven Gods of Good Fortune. Ebisu is guardian of the morning sun. 

Ebisu is bounteous entity, he brings complete and abundant financial success. Merchants and shopkeepers often create altars to honoring Ebisu.

Ebisu can be invoked to safeguard the health of young children.

Ebisu is also the patron God and the guardian of the chefs and their restaurants.

Should you ever be unfortunate enough to suffer food poisoning, he is the entity to invoke for help. Restaurants are frequently named in Ebisu's honor, especially restaurants specializing in fugu, the potentially toxic fish and high-priced Japanese delicacy. Place this Statuette in the kitchen to guard your food and cooking.

Ebisu is a smiling, bearded man wearing a tall hat. He holds a fishing rod in one hand and one or two big fishes in the other, usually a red sea bream.

His sacred creature is a sea bream (called tai in Japanese and considered as the lucky fish).

Ebisu is a bit deaf. As legend say, one day all the other kami gathered for their annual convention at the Grand Shrine in Izumo. For whatever reason, possibly because he didn't hear the summons, Ebisu failed to go, so he is available when all the others kami are not.

This is a rare collectible antique Japan Statuette of Ebisu, handmade and hand painted. You can keep it on yours Altar in your home or office.
