Doubleweave
This basket was handcrafted by the Tarahumara Indians using their traditional double weave design and materials indigenous to their environment such as bear grass, sotol and pine straw. The Tarahumara continue to live in isolated existence in the Chihuahua Mountains in Mexico. they support themselves by raising corn and goats, as well as augmenting their income through selling their crafts.
